Diagnosis of SPD

The best diagnosis is your own symptoms. X-rays, MRI scans or ultrasound may determine whether there is an abnormal gap or misalignment at the symphysis pubis, but this is not always a reliable indicator of the pain experienced by individual women. Some may have relatively normal-looking x-rays, yet suffer a great deal of pain and debilitation.
